Violin and Timpani

“There is to my knowledge no other repertoire for this unique duo.

It was an interesting challege (at age 22) balancing the brilliance and virtuosity of the violin with the booming resonance and sluggish tread of the timpani, and giving the drums at least a semblance of melodic equality. Apparently I succeeded, as it is one of my most performed works.” — DA
